All About Me
David Canham, born in Portsmouth (Hampshire) 1970. Interviewed for the first time by the BBC when he was 17, for the position of Trainee Continuity Announcer! Although he managed to impress the senior announcer, he was sent packing for being a little too young! 13 years later he managed to achieve his ambition, and became an Announcer and Network Director (self op) for BBC 1 and 2 Wales. David was 'officially' the last BBC Announcer to 'closedown' using the infamous BBC 1 Balloon (see below).

He later moved to British Forces Broadcasting (Television) to take up an Announcer/Transmission Controller (self op) role for three years.
David has extensive experience in Transmission Control, having worked at BSkyB, Molinare and Viasat - where he played a role in introducing a tape-less server based playout infra-structure.
He also has experience of directing news bulletin’s and newsreading (BBC Wales).
David is a regular continuity voice on the Sky Digital service TEACHERS TV, where he both writes and voices programme links. In addition he voices promotional content for this channel.
Although more than capable of achieving vocal authority, in the well known ‘BBC style’ David is also recognised for his sometimes ‘quirky’ approach to writing and voicing, which is ideal for some clients and channels.
Altogether David has worked in the industry for 20 years, in every role from Videotape Librarian to Production Manager for BBC Documentaries.
